The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has alleged that BJP leader and Union minister Parshottam Rupala was involved in a multi-crore scam that has rocked Viramgam credit cooperative society, reports Times of India.
Account holders in Arbuda Credit Cooperative Society had registered a complaint against the promoters. The complaint states that 1,195 account holders were promised that their dues from the society would be paid, but instead the manager and others did not pay Rs 3.18 crore and fled the town.
The Congress has alleged that the amount of scam reaches up to 1 lakh crore.
The Congress on Sunday released pictures of Rakesh Agarwal, the chief of the credit society, with Rupala and alleged that he had close ties with the minister and other BJP leaders.
