In a bid to reduce pollution in Madhya Pradesh, the dept of cooperatives department is planning to run e-rickshaws in city areas, reports Times of India.
The minister of state for cooperatives said the initiative is being taken with the transport department for a planned transport facility across the state, which could be a major step in controlling pollution.
The plan will be first implemented in Bhopal and Indore where unemployed youth will be given bank loans through cooperative societies to buy e-rickshaws, he said. .
The e-rickshaws will be linked to city bus so that local commuters get pickup facility from bus stand to their destination.
