The government’s e-Marketplace portal (GeM) that has carried out massive orders this fiscal is assisting cooperative societies for their registration on the portal and activation of their GeM pool accounts, reports New Indian Express.
The cooperative societies is getting direct access to over 54 lakh sellers and service providers across the country through this platform.
According to the GeM’s CEO “Use of GeM by cooperatives will substantially enhance the credibility of cooperatives and complaints of mismanagement of funds will be reduced. This will also enhance the overall “ease of doing business” for cooperatives while providing a larger buyer base for sellers on GeM,” the CEO added.
It is said GEM will soon surpass Amazon and Flipkart in doing business.
