Addressing recently a state level cooperative conference, in Bhuvaneshwar Naveen Patnaik Odisha chief minister called for a strong and transparent cooperative movement to ensure development at the grassroots level, reports New Indian Express.
Calling the cooperative movement a medium that can provide jobs to millions, the chief minister said financial and social security of farmers can only be possible through cooperative institutions.
Referring the the Vaidyanathan committee, the chief minister added as per the committee’s recommendations all cooperative bodies in the state have completed their elections.
Several cooperators including the Odisha minister for cooperation Surya Narain Patro addressed the conference and underscored the role of the cooperative movement in ensuring successful implementation of all welfare programmes launched by the state government.
