Several co-operators of the town visited the Hauz Khas residence of Dr. G N Saxena on the occasion of his first death anniversary (Barsi) Tuesday noon. Prominent among them was IFFCO Managing Director Dr. U S
Awasthi.
Dr. Saxena was a Director at IFFCO who looked after cooperative relations and co-op development of the organization. Several of his old colleagues including Ghanshyam Das, Naresh Arora, Ms. Madhavi, and others could be seen paying their respect to the departed soul.
Saxena and his wife succumbed to Covid last year almost at the same time, leaving behind two daughters. Rated a formidable co-operator, Saxena was popular because of his friendly disposition. Scores of co-operators would visit his office at the IFFCO headquarters on a daily basis.
IFFCO lost many of its worthy members including BS Nakai, Pramod Kumar Singh, and Kamal Verma along with Dr. Saxena.
Paying his tributes, the IFFCO MD wrote “Today, I attended the Barsi of Dr. G.N.Saxena, Ex-Director, IFFCO, and met his daughters. I gave my blessings to both the daughters and their families. Dr. Saxena had a long association with me & IFFCO. His contribution to the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) was immense.”
