Cooperation Minister of Karnataka H.S Mahadev Prasad says the state govt. contemplates distributing thousands of crores of rupees as crop loans through cooperatives in the current fiscal.
He claimed about 7 thousand crores of rupees were delivered up to farmers by cooperative bodies in the last fiscal. The minister greatly praised the way cooperative deliver the goods.
The crop loans are given on zero interest and more than two million farmers would avail themselves of easy loans this fiscal, asserted the minister.
The minister informed that a new medical insurance plan for urban population would soon be unveiled. The important aspect of the plan is the vulnerable sections of the urban population associated with urban cooperatives would be able to benefit from the plan at a reduced premium, said the minister.
