Co-op Trade Fair comes to an end

Cooperatives from across the world participated in the first ever three day India International Cooperative Fair that ended on Sunday. From IFFCO to Kribhco to Markfed to NAFED to Apex bank of States to Campco to several small handlooms and Handicraft cooperatives to Fishcopfed and others participated with full gusto and enthusiasm.

Talking to this correspondent several participants said, “We were not expecting but we got a huge response from the visitors who were eager to know about the cooperative model and its’ products”. Visitors were also seen buying co-op products.

There were several co-op banks of Kerala including Anjarakkandy Farmers Service Cooperative Bank that showcased their products explaining how they have diversified their business into non-banking activities.

During the trade fair, IFFCO and Kribhco representatives shared details with farmers about their products and policies.

Besides, Manipur based Renu Handloom and Handicraft Cooperative, Prathmik Vanopaj Sahakari Samiti Maryadit and other small cooperatives were also active ahead wooing the participants.

Several international brands including Malaysian based Angkasa, Thailand cooperative, cooperatives of neighboring countries also showcased their products during the trade fair kicked off on last Friday. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar.
