The Enforcement Department (ED)’s further investigation of the Jarandeshwar Sugar Mill case in Maharashtra’s Satara district found that 41 other cooperative sugar mills in the state were also sold at heavily reduced prices, reports India Today.
The mills were allegedly sold by the Maharashtra government and Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank between 2008-2014 for a value of Rs 5 crore to Rs 65 crore each.
However, Shiv Sena says the ED’s action is aimed at the people who were responsible for forming the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra including Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.
