The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing (DVAC) in Tamil Nadu recently took into custody a Cooperative Sub-Registrar of Tirunelveli and Maanur Taluks Santhanaraj, taking bribe from ration shop sales men. He was under surveillance, Hindu reports.
Police say an unaccounted cash of Rs 1.50 lakh was seized from him. Further investigation is in progress.
Sources say corruption is rampant in cooperative bodies across Tamil Nadu.
