Elamakara Samuhya Kshema (Social Welfare) Co-operative Society (ESKCS), in Kerala has begun offering low cost health services to the common people.
The society has just recently opened a medical center at Karukapilly offering dialysis at Rs 600 against Rs 1,200 charged elsewhere, reports New Indian Express.
Apart from providing pathological and other necessary tests at 40 per cent lower rates, the society is running a medicine shop which sells medicines at 15-40 percent discount.
With a small amount paid as registration fee, the society members may get various benefits including the death benefit of Rs 15,000 at the time of cremation. The Co-operative Society also conducts free medical camps.
