Following revelation of alleged irregularities and violation of norms in recruitment in various cooperative banks, the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh will hold a vigilance inquiry into the appointments made by the Virbhadhra government, reports Tribune.
Sources say gross irregularities in the recruitment process were one of the issues BJP had invariably raised against Virbhadhra Singh.
Several banks including Agriculture and Rural Development Cooperative Bank, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank and Kangra Central Cooperative Bank have violated norms in recruitment, it is being alleged.
The issue of bank recruitment had figured prominently in the BJP charge sheet against the previous Congress regime headed by Virbhadra Singh. The BJP had charged that the Congress had made backdoor entry to benefit its own people.
