Deccan Chronical from Hyderabad reports the House Committee probing irregularities in cooperative housing societies on government lands in Telangana pulled up officials for their failure to take action against erring societies and recommended to the government to appoint special officers in such places immediately.
Pending completion of the probe, the panel recommended to the government to stop registration of plots in such societies facing the probe.
The House Committee which met under the chairmanship of A. Ramesh decided to inspect Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society, Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society, Nandagiri Hills Coop Housing Society and Venkateswara Cooperative Housing Society in the city besides five other societies soon.
The panel condemned harassment of Dr Kiranmayee, additional registrar of cooperative societies, who was transferred to Warangal, on disciplinary grounds. MLCs had raised the irregularities in various housing societies in the Legislative Council based on Dr Kiranmayee’s reports including Film Nagar and TNGOs colony.
