A long-held dream of cooperative leaders in MP finally stands translated into reality. Sahakar Bharati has opened a cooperative hospital named “Sakshi Cooperative Hospital” in Bhopal.
The Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang inaugurated the healthcare facility being the only existing one of its kind in the state.
Sharing the details of the event on Social Media, Minister wrote, “In the state cooperative sector the initiative of opening cooperative hospital has taken in Bhopal. Today my dream has come true. I am happy that we are going to provide health facilities to the community from a Co-op hospital”.
Talking to this correspondent on the phone, Vivek Chaturvedi, State President, Sahakar Bharati said, “We inaugurated a cooperative hospital to give the quality facilities at a reasonable price to the people. In the capital of MP, we took a two storey building on rent and set-up the hospital”.
“In comparison to private hospitals, the cost in our hospital will be 15 to 20 percent less. At the initial stage, we have set-up 10 beds including facilities like X-Ray, Sonography and many other facilities. We are also in communication with 38 doctors who are experts in their fields. We are getting positive responses”, he added.
Besides Minister, Sahakar Bharati Patron and RBI Director Satish Marathe, Sahakar Bharati General Secretary Uday Joshi and others were present on the occasion.
Readers would recall that the idea of a cooperative hospital is in conversation in several states including Maharashtra, Assam and others. A cooperative hospital named Shushrusha Citizens’ Cooperative Hospital had been established 50 years ago in Mumbai on a modest scale. Presently, the hospital has 150 beds with world class facilities.
