A wordy fight between employees of cooperative societies and a government official in Bhatinda in Punjab degenerated into the former stopping work and holding a protest against the assistant registrar of Cooperative Society, reports Tribune News Service.
President of the Cooperative Societies Employees Union Bathinda is quoted saying assistant registrar asked him to take back his statement against the bad behavior of the Bhatinda SDM. When he refused, the assistant registrar threatened taking away his job.
The president added when the news reached the staff members of cooperative societies, they decided to strike work at all 80 societies located in the district and come out in my support.
However, the assistant registrar has denied the allegations.
