Co-op elections resume from October 1 in Maharashtra

The election process for over 29,443 cooperative societies in Maharashtra, delayed earlier, will resume from October 1, 2024, per the State Cooperative Election Authority’s directives.

In Pune district, 3,048 cooperative societies will participate, with 828 from Pune city and 2,220 from rural areas.

The election includes different classes of societies, and Class A and B schedules will follow Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Election Rules, 2014.

For Class C, elections will be finalized at the taluka or ward level. The voter lists will be updated, with October 1 as the eligibility cut-off date for societies yet to publish them.
