In a unique move, the Madhya Pradesh cooperative department is in the process to run the cooperative buses in Gwalior and other towns located in the state, say media reports.
The department’s argument is that with this the people of rural areas will get employment in large numbers and rural tourism will also get a boost. Its objective is to improve the systems along with creating employment opportunities through cooperatives.
The cooperative department is forming transport cooperatives at the village level, which will run cooperative buses from village to village. This will create employment opportunities, as well as transport facilities for villagers.
