Times of India reports unidentified criminals decamped with Rs. 19 lakh from a cooperative bank at Nasik. Earlier this year another bank at Dapur some distance from Nasik was robbed of Rs. 25.73 lakh.
Sources say the incidents have triggered once again discussions on lack of security at cooperative banks. Generally, the banks have neither a security guard nor CCTV cameras on their premises, add sources.
Police say they are trying to find out the modus operandi of the criminals active in the area.
A police officer is quoted as saying no one has been arrested in the Dapur Bank robbery and investigation is in progress.
The cases of Bank robbery in India is increasing day by day. It is necessary to verify bank employees background. It might be helpful to prevent it. Also necessary to arrange tight security for banks.
