Criminals broke into the branch of Government Cooperative Bank located in Pakka Kalan village in Bhatinda, Punjab and made away with Rs 8.52 lakh, reports Tribune.
Police say a case of theft has been registered on the basis of the statement of the bank manager.
According to police, an insider could be involved in the thefts. CCTVs or alarms were not installed at the bank, police sources are quoted saying.
A similar theft attempt was earlier made at the cooperative bank branch located at Harraipur village.
