While Kerala Cooperative Minister Kadakampally Surendran kicked off the NCUI’s 67th All India Cooperative Week, reports of the 67th cooperative week-long celebrations have come from various parts of the country.
Several top co-operators of the country led by Dr Chandra Pal Singh participated in the NCUI’s webinar. The theme of the Co-op Week this year is ‘Covid Pandemic-Atmanirbhar Bharat- Cooperatives”.
Sanjay Pachpor, Organizing Secretary of Sahakar Bharti also released a timely video on the occasion asking fellow co-operators to reach out to areas where cooperative light has not gone so far.
Report of the 67th cooperative week-long celebration has come from several other parts of the country. Karnataka CM B.S. Yediyurappa said that the Indian Cooperative sector is the strongest in the world, with nearly 8 lakh Co-operative institutions in the country having over 28 crore members. He also conferred ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award to over 30 top Co-operators on the occasion.

inaugurated Co-op Week and asked co-op banks to give loans after due diligence. In Anantnag district of J&K, Co-op Week function among others was attended by the Chairman of Managing Committee Super Bazar Anantnag as a chief Guest, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Block Qaimoh, field functionaries of the district Anantnag and staff members of the super Bazar Anantnag, reports local media.
The objective of the Cooperative Week celebrations is to generate cooperative awareness among the masses. The plan is to highlight the successes and achievements of the cooperative movement, and also chalk out the future strategies for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
