Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced plans to establish 219 new cooperative societies and 741 multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
Speaking at the Cooperation Conference, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Dr. Saha launched eight new projects and schemes.
Highlighting a rise in the state’s GSDP by 8.9% and an increase in per capita income from Rs 1.54 lakh in 2023 to Rs 1.77 lakh in 2024, he emphasized the cooperative sector’s role in economic growth.
Initiatives include PACS for milk and fish in every village, computerizing LAMPS, and forming multistate cooperatives for exports. Prominent dignitaries attended the event.
