According to Indian Express reports Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for an Amul Dairy unit on Tuesday at the closed cooperative Vijaya Dairy, to implement a deal earlier signed with Gujarat-based milk cooperative.
However, the TDP has slammed the move as the “surrender” of Vijaya dairy to Amul.
It is worth mentioning that Vijaya Dairy was closed down in 2002. The AP chief minister has said reactivating the unit at Chittoor will create employment for thousands of people and lakhs of farmers.
