In a series of organizing regional consultation workshops with State Cooperative Banks and DCCBs on measures to expand business growth during Amrit Kaal (2022-47), the National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (Nafscob) organized a meeting in Bangalore on Thursday, which was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The event saw the presence of key figures such as Karnataka Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna, Nafscob Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao, South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank Chairman M N Rajendra Kumar, Himachal Pradesh StCB Chairman Devendra Shyam, Rajasthan Cooperative Secretary Suchi Tyagi, and others.
Belli Prakash, Chairman of the Karnataka State Cooperative Bank, played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the workshop.
The official social media handle of the Chief Minister of Karnataka wrote on Facebook, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today inaugurated a seminar on ‘Measures to Expand Business Growth during Amrit Kala (2022- 47)’ organized by Nafscob. Minister of Cooperation K. N. Rajanna and others were present at the occasion.
The workshop aimed to uplift cooperatives comprehensively, emphasizing fostering development, facilitating business expansion, and strengthening the network of cooperative banks to enhance their self-reliance and long-term sustainability.
During the event, participants underscored the importance of expediting the central government’s initiative to computerize all primary-level cooperative societies. This move is expected to enable the diversification of their business operations, thereby creating more opportunities for growth.
Shrawan Manta, the Managing Director of HP State Cooperative Bank, presented various business-oriented schemes implemented by the bank to benefit customers. The attendees praised the bank’s services and loan schemes, particularly highlighting the ‘Sapno Ko Sanchay-Deposit Linked Scheme’.
It bears recall that Nafscob organized similar meetings in Chandigarh and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, as part of its efforts to promote cooperative business growth across different regions.
