Addressing the meeting of officials of cooperative banks of Uttarakhand, the state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said efforts are being made by cooperative banks to reduce NPAs level.
“These banks should make more efforts to increase the credit deposit ratio especially in hilly areas. There is a need to put more efforts to increase the livelihood of the people in the hilly districts through cooperatives”, he added.
On this occasion, the state cooperative minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that in the last 5 years there has been a rapid reduction in the NPA of cooperative banks. Five years ago the NPA was around 20 percent, which has come down to 3.81 per cent now.
