Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called on the Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO) to create trendy and modern designs with the help of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) for acquiring ability to compete in the world market reports HansIndia.
Envisaging that the APCO turnover should cross Rs 338 crore during 2017-18, Chief Minister fixed the target of Rs 405 crore turnover for 2018-19 and Rs 486 crore for 2019-20.
Naidu said the government will make agreements with national and international firms for exporting APCO designed cloth.
Meanwhile, APCO officials have put up a proposal on establishing APCO design studio with the support of NIFT and a Yarn Bank for supplying yarn to cooperative societies.
