The Sahakar Panel made a clean sweep in the elections of Amravati District Cooperative Board held last week.
The 21 seats of the board of directors have been won by the Sahakar Panel. Readers would recall that the 18 directors were elected unopposed and the elections for three remaining seats were held on Saturday last week.
In the election, Sahakar Panel’s candidate Sudhakar Patil Bharsakale got 42 votes whereas his rival Madan Patil received only 16 votes. Besides, the other candidate from the said panel, Balasaheb Charhate got 25 and Shashikant Mangle bagged with only 15 votes. Rameshwar Vidale emerged victorious from the OBC category.
The head office of the board has been operating at the premises of Amravati District Cooperative Board for many years. The board is the apex body of district cooperatives that are working to strengthen the cooperative movement of the country.
