Arvind Pinto and Rockson Rufus Rodrigues have been elected as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Mumbai’s leading bank- Citizen Credit Cooperative Bank.
The elections were held only for the office bearers of the bank because, according to its by-laws, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman were to be elected every three years, while board elections occur every five years.
Their term was completed in November 2025, but the bank has now received approval from the CRCS to amend its by-laws, allowing the Chairman and Vice-Chairman to serve for five years along with the board, instead of the previous three-year term. However, the term of the newly elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be two years.
In the election, Chairman candidate Pinto received seven votes, while his rival, Frederick Felix Castelino, also secured seven votes. However, Pinto was declared the winner after receiving one additional vote through a lottery. Similarly, Vice-Chairman candidate Rockson Rufus Rodrigues secured eight votes, while his rival, Royston Pereira, received six votes.
Citizen Credit Cooperative Bank has a business mix of more than Rs 4,500 crore and recorded a net profit of Rs 23.45 crore in the 2023-24 financial year, with zero net NPA.
