Chhattisgarh Government has decided to open four new district central cooperative banks in the State. At present, there are six DCCBs in the state and over 30 lakh peoples’ are having their accounts in these banks.
After the committee formed to examine the matter will submit their report, the government will send a proposal to RBI for taking license.
The decision was taken during the meeting held between officials of the cooperative department and three ministers in the Bhupesh Baghel cabinet.
It is worth mentioning that several leaders of congress and BJP exercise a considerable amount of influence in these DCCBs.
