Amid Opposition ruckus, the Chhattisgarh Cooperative Societies Amendment Bill has been passed in the State Legislative Assembly for which 52 members voted in favor of the bill while 12 members cast votes in opposition.
Before the passage of the bill, the BJP opposed several provisions of the amendments.
According to the new amendments, the tenure of administrators appointed in cooperative societies can be extended, where there is no board. At present, where the board has been dissolved due to several reasons, there is a provision of appointing administrators in respective co-op societies for 6 months and in the case of cooperative banks it is for one year but with the approval of registrar the tenure can be extended.
Several co-ops have failed to send the details of the board and annual meeting proceedings to the Registrar on time. In this regard, the minutes of all the conferences of the societies along with all the persons invited to the conference shall be submitted to the Registrar within thirty days.
We are giving below the copy of the Amendment bill for readers’ perusal.
