Reacting to media charges that the newly formed Cooperation Ministry’s aim is to decimate the hold of NCP from Maharashtra cooperative sugar mills, Sharad Pawar, the veteran leaders said it is media’s figment of imagination.
Sharad Pawar who has been Union Minister in UPA for 10 years and looked after agriculture and Cooperation said, Centre cannot interfere in the matters of state co-operatives.
Pawar was emphatic that centre’s power is restricted only to multistate co-operatives.Ever since Amit Shah has taken over, media has been busy speculating that his elevation is aimed at robbing NCP of its cooperative clout.
Innocent of cooperative dynamics the mainstream media has failed to note the difference between state co-op and multi state co-op. Pawar’s answer was an effort to coach media of the same, commented a Delhi based co-operator.
