In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah said in regard to computerization of PACS, Rs. 43.81 Cr. has been released to the State of Rajasthan for hardware procurement, digitization and establishment of a support system.
He further added, total financial assistance including loans and subsidies amounting to Rs 12,662.09 cr have been released by NCDC to the State of Rajasthan.
“The Government has taken several important initiatives to economically strengthen Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), including Computerization of PACS which entails bringing all the functional PACS onto an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) based common national software which will help in improving their operational efficiency, ensuring speedy disbursal of loans, lowering of transaction costs and increasing transparency”, said Shah in his reply.
Shah stated, till now, 24,470 PACS have started providing CSC services in the country and 2,063 PACS have started providing such services in the State of Bihar.
