Launched in 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Soil Health Card Scheme aims to help farmers assess soil nutrient levels and optimize fertilizer use.
The initiative has expanded with 665 Village-Level Soil Testing Labs across 17 states and a School Soil Health Programme in 1,020 schools, engaging over 125,972 students in soil testing.
Technological advancements, including a revamped SHC portal and mobile app, have improved efficiency and accessibility.
Integrated with Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) since 2022, the scheme continues to promote sustainable farming and long-term soil health, ensuring a productive future for Indian agriculture.
