CB-CID to launch probe into Aligarh DCCB Scam

According to media reports, CB-CID will launch probe in 10 branches of Aligarh District Cooperative Bank for disbursing bogus loans. The issue was also raised by Shatrudra Prakash and Santosh Yadav, Members of legislative council.

It is being reported that the scam is about Rs 14 crore.

Besides, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma personally met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and apprised him of the situation. After receiving complaints, CM ordered the CB-CID to probe the matter.

The scam broke between 2001 to 2014. Several branches of the bank including Atrauli, Khair, Iglas, Chaundus and others were shown in the red. Nearly 25 employees including 10 branch managers are found guilty in the internal investigation conducted by the the bank. They have been dismissed from their services.

Actually the matter came to light when the former chairman of Aligarh DCCB and BJP leader Suresh Chandra Sharma informed Agriculture Minister and Cooperative Minister of the scam.
