A.Kishore Kumar Kodgi, President and the Board of Management of CAMPCO Ltd., Mangaluru on behalf of the entire Arecanut fraternity thanked the Union Government for having hiked the Minimum Import Price from Rs.251/- to Rs.351/ .
“Based on representations from CAMPCO and other like-minded Cooperatives such as MAMCOS, TUMCOS, TSS to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Agriculture & Commerce Ministries; the Govt has revised the Minimum Import Price, noting the hike in cost of cultivation of Arecanut and in order to stabilize the domestic Market”, read a press note from Campco.
In the recently concluded CAMPCO Golden Jubilee Celebrations, A.Kishore Kumar Kodgi, President had requested Amit Shah, Union Minister to raise the Minimum Import Price of Arecanut. Campco also thanked Smt.Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for her positive role.
“We are delighted that the request made on behalf of the Arecanut farmers by the Campco President has been favourably considered by the Union Government”, says the release.
