A delegation of 30 Brazilian agro-industrial cooperative leaders, led by Marco Antonio Polizel Camilli, visited the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) on November 28, 2024. Representing Brazil’s agribusiness sector with a combined turnover of $40 billion, the delegation’s visit coincided with the ICA Global Conference 2024 and the global launch of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC 2025).
The visit aimed to explore business opportunities between Indian and Brazilian cooperatives, share insights, and strengthen global cooperative ties. Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Chief Executive of NCUI, welcomed the delegation, presenting NCUI’s initiatives and emphasizing IYC 2025’s role in promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The delegation also toured the Cooperative Haat, appreciating NCUI’s grassroots initiatives. The visit concluded with mutual commitments to future collaborations, marking a milestone in fostering India-Brazil cooperative relations and reinforcing the global cooperative movement’s economic and social impact.
