Police arrested two persons in connection with a botched up attempt to rob the Kotekaru Agricultural Credit Cooperative Bank in Mangalore in Karnataka, reports Times of India. The accused had tried to decamp with 20-kgs of gold ornaments valued at Rs 5.5 crore.
A police case was registered on a complaint from the bank manager.
A source clued in the security affairs for cooperative banks said, the incident has once again shown the lack of a reliable security system.
