Tribune reports BJP walked off with all six posts of director of Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank in Himachal Pradesh roundly defeating Congress in the elections.
Three former chairmen — Vijay Thakur, Sanjeev Kaushal and Laj Kishore — were elected. In Solan zone, BJP candidate Budh Ram, aka Vinod Kumar, defeated former chairman and Congress leader Mohan Mehta. However, in the Kandaghat zone, factional contradictions surfaced within the BJP as the sitting chairman, Vijay Thakur, got support of one faction.
Now everyone is watching the key posts of chairman and vice-chairman where apart from the six directors, four government nominees, bank’s Managing Director and a representative of HP State Cooperative Bank will influence the decision.
