Tabling the Bihar Budget 2023-24 recently, the state finance minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary allocated 1190.65 crore for the Cooperative Department.
Under the Bihar Chief Minister Green Agriculture Plant Scheme, Agriculture Plant Bank in all 8,463 PACCs are to be established.
3,19,354 beneficiaries in Kharif 2021 season under Bihar State Crop Assistance, farmers, have been paid assistance amounting to Rs 207.23 crore. All PACS will be computerized in a phased manner from 2022-23 to 2026-27. It is targeted to be computerized in due course, said Choudhary.
A Sahakar Bhawan in each district will be constructed with the objective of providing all the facilities in one premises. Under this, 13 Sahakar Bhawan buildings have already been constructed.
So far in the year 2022-23, the construction work of 118 godowns has been completed, which has increased the storage capacity by 0.656 metric tonnes and 542 godowns are under construction, which will increase the storage capacity by 3.25 lakh metric tonnes, he added.
