Vikram Kumar Jha, the former district cooperative officer (DCO) of Nawada in Bihar has been instructed to submit the written statement of his defense to the Departmental Investigation Commissioner of the state in fifteen days.
Bihar Govt said in a statement that the action will be taken under the Rule (17) of Bihar Government Servant 2005.
Readers would recall that the Vigilance department officers raided the Purnea residence of Jha’s where a sum of Rs 1.25 crore and 1 kg of gold and 1.75kg of silver ornaments, documents related to 16 plots in the name of Jha and his relatives whose deed value together was estimated at Rs 1.40 crore were recovered.
Raids were also conducted in Patna and Nawada.
The Bureau lodged an FIR against Jha under section 13 (2) read with 13(1) under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
