Biggest of corporates can’t do what a small co-op can: Sanghani

Stressing the importance of co-operatives in nation-building, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani said that even the biggest of corporates cannot do what even a small co-op is doing every day in society. Sanghani was speaking on the occasion of 64th AGM of Nafed in Delhi on Friday.

“Amul doles our Rs 100 crore to its members every day; a common bank like Amreli DCCB has insured its 4 lac members without charging a penny; tell me can any corporate do that?”, asked Sanghani saying the profit accrues to the owner in a corporate while it is distributed among members in co-op organizations.

Realizing this, no wonder our Prime Minister has created a separate Ministry and anointed the best of his Ministers for making India Atmanirbhar through the route of cooperatives, thundered Sanghani before a huge assembly of Nafed delegates.

On the occasion Sanghani also recounted how he joined the national co-op movement and thanked Nafed Chairman Bijender Singh for giving him a chance by offering him a berth at the Nafscob.

Last but not the least Sanghani thanked Amit Shah and held him directly or indirectly responsible for his role at the national co-op stage. “Shah ensured that I become the Chairman of Gujarat State Co-op Bank, from where I was ultimately catapulted to Nafscob”, said Sanghani in an emotionally choked voice.
