Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank Managing Director Bhomaram pooh-poohs the charges levelled against him on the issue of computerization of PACS, saying allegations are baseless and motivated. It bears recalling that for the computerization of PACS in Rajasthan, Nabard had made the Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank as a nodal agency in March 2023.
Bhomaram was reacting to one of the media reports, which accused him of indulging in irregularities in cancelling the tender related to supply of equipment for PACS computerization, three times in a pre-planned manner.
“It is wrong to say that we have cancelled the tender in a pre-planned manner. The tenders were cancelled on technical grounds. The allegations levelled against me are only to tarnish our image. We have served the legal notice to the media house”, Bhomaram said.
He further added, the work of computerization has been given to the well-known IT company HP and ACER. We have not done any irregularities and there is no personal interest of anyone involved in it.
Following the instructions of Nabard, the bank first released the tender to the GeM portal in March 2023 but was cancelled by the bank on some grounds. The tender was released three times to the GeM portal with several modifications.
Rajasthan State Cooperative Bank has a business mix of more than Rs 12,000 crore and earned a net profit of Rs 73 crore in the 2022-23 FY. The bank has 16 branches out of which 12 are in Jaipur and one each at Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner & Kota.
