According to Pune Mirror reports, more than Rs 1.8 crore has been defrauded through the Bharati Sahakari Bank’s ATMs across the country through card cloning. The crime took place three years in between Dec. 17 2020 and Nov 1 2021.
The Bank’s MD Sarjeram Jagnnath Patil lodged a complaint with the Vishrambaug Police Station.
According to the complaint, the bank’s audit in 2022 showed that Rs 1.8 crore was withdrawn by cloning ATM cards.
The cooperative bank has 23 branches across the country and each branch is equipped with an ATM for customers.
