A news outlet reports Karnataka minister of cooperation Bandeppa Kashempur recently told journalists that Aadhar card nomination made mandatory brought to light thousands of benami accounts in cooperative banks of the state.
According to an estimate, the minister said Rs 50 crore is parked in these banks.
The minister has not only expressed his concern over benami transactions but also over a spate of frauds recently perpetrated by cooperative functionaries and others through cooperative banks.
