Maharashtra based Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank has organized a two day “Coins & Bank Notes Exhibition” in collaboration with Pascal Roque Lopes for showcasing the ancient currencies and coins in Bhandari Hall at Vasia West, Maharashtra recently.
The two day exhibition was inaugurated by Bank Chairman Onil Almeida. BCCB Bank Vice-Chairman Yuri Gonsalves and CEO Brijdina Coutinho were also present on the occasion.
While talking to this correspondent Onil Almeida said “Today we opened a two day unique exhibition of coins and currencies from over 200 countries from Ancient Medieval & Modern times. There are Coins from the Ancient Vasai & Konkon Region in Maharashtra”.
“The objective is to make people aware of ancient currencies, coins and stamps, School students are taking part in the exhibition in a big way.
Meanwhile, 99 years old UCB Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank is celebrating its centenary year and on the completion of its glorious 100th year bank is planning to organize a big event on 10th February which is likely to be inaugurated by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
The Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank was established by Social reformer P.J.Monis, Christian missionery on 6 February 1918 in Vasai, The bank has a network of about 58 branches and earned a net profit of Rs 75 crore in the last financial year.
