Bassein Catholic Co-op Bank opens branch in Dadar

Maharashtra based Scheduled Bank Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank limited has opened its 63rd branch at Dadar recently. Vikram Modi a customer of bank inaugurated the new branch. The Bank’s Chairman Onil Almeida, CEO Brijdina Coutinho and others were present on the occasion.

“We have opened our 63rd branch to extend our network and expand our business turnover at Dadar. In first phase, we are expecting a business turnover of about Rs 50 crore. We are sure, we can achieve the goal”, said an euphoric Yuri Gonsalves, the Bank’s Vice-Chairman to this correspondent on the phone soon after the opening.

He further said, “In the last FY, the bank opened four branches at Bhiwandi, Chandansar, Kandivali and Chakan at Maharashtra. In the current FY 2018-19, four branches have been opened and two more would be opened at Nashik-Sainath Nagar and Mulund”.

It bears recall that “In the financial year 2016-17, the bank’s total business was about Rs 9 thousand crore but the bank is able to cross the Rs 10 thousand crore mark in the FY 2017-18.

The Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank was established by a social reformer P.J.Monis, Christian missionary on 6 February 1918 in Vasai, The bank has a network of 63 branches. It earned a net profit of Rs 80.70 crore in the financial year 2017-18.
