Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank has given a cheque of Rs 11 lakh as its CSR contribution towards the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund on Sunday.
On behalf of the bank, Onil Almeida and CEO Brijdina Coutinho handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Later, the chief minister posed for photographs with them.
The Chief Minister lost no time in thanking the bank on social media, “Thank you Bassein Catholic Co-operative Bank Ltd, Vasai for the contribution of Rs 11,00,000/- towards #CMReliefFund“.
Earlier, Kerala based India’s largest Labor Cooperative ULCCS had donated ten lakh rupees to the Chief Minister’s relief fund for the Ockhi cyclone affected people in Thiruvananthapuram.
The bank’s Vice-Chairman Yuri Gonslaves, board members, officials and others were present on the occasion.
It bears recall that earlier the BCCB bank was in the news when the total business of the bank crossed Rs 10 thousand crore mark.
The Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank was established by a social reformer P.J.Monis, Christian missionary in 1918 in Vasai, The bank has a network of about 58 branches. It earned a net profit of Rs 75 crore in the financial year 2016-17.
