Amul will soon begin helping war ravaged countries like Sudan and Afghanistan in fighting the problem of malnutrition, reports Times of India.
Amul Dairy has recently been asked by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to supply ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) to these countries.
Amul Dairy has registered as an UNICEF approved supplier of RUTF after UNICEF last year approved its plant to supply orders up to US $ 2 million (nearly Rs 12 crore) to begin with.
RUTF which Amul has branded as ‘Bal Amul’ is a therapeutic food developed specifically to tackle the problem of acute malnutrition.
