The Purnea office of IFFCO organized a Kharif Crop Seminar at Triveniganj in the district of Supaul in Bihar which had Member of Parliament from Supaul Mrs Ranjeet Ranjan as the chief guest.
The occasion also saw the inauguration of IFFCO’s Fertiliser Storage Centre, informed Rajendra Yadav Chief Area Manager IFFCO Bhagalpur.
Besides the MP, Kusheshwar Singh Chairman DCCB Supaul, local state officials and several scientists from KVK Centre and Bihar Agriculture University participated in the seminar. More than a thousand farmers also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Ranjan applauded the work done by IFFCO in uplifting the lot of farming community. She went on to compare IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi with Dr M S Swaminathan. “The two have rendered selfless services for the benefit of farmers”, she underlined.
It bears recall that Mrs Ranjan is the wife of Pappu Yadav and a very popular leader in her own right who won on a Congress ticket beating the strong Modi wave from Supaul in the last Parliamentary elections.
Addressing a large number of farmers, Rajendra Yadav, Chief Area Manager of IFFCO enumerated the benefits of stuff like Sagarika and told farmers about its use for better crops production.
Many scientists discussed the latest agriculture techniques which may help in doubling farmers’ income. “Such ground level regular meetings organized by IFFCO go a long way in educating farmers,” concluded Mrs Ranjan while assuring her unstinted support for such activities.
