On the occasion of Kisan Diwas (Farmers Day) Puducherry – a former French settlement bordering Tamil Nadu was IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi’s 21st port of call. Speaking on the occasion, he said IFFCO would bring digital technology to the doorstep of farmers in the country and it’s time they adapted to the new technology.

His visit caused a flurry of activity including cooperative and farmers meetings in the delightful town. In his remarks on the occasion, he said farmers are very important to all of us as because of them we are able to get our food.
In another tweet he wrote “Let’s Salute our #Farmers today on #KisanDiwas. The real life line behind all of us. They ensure our food security. Let’s say #ThankYouKisan”.
On the occasion, children presented a play urging farmers to stop burning trash and save environment.
More than 1500 farmers took part in the programmes.
