Aryapuram Co-operative Urban Bank organized the centenary celebrations at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram Sunday in Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh. Minister for Co-operation Ch Adinarayana Reddy was the chief guest.
Patting himself in the back the Minister claimed that the state govt is doing everything possible to strengthen the co-op movement in the state. Reddy wanted the sector to reach out to downtrodden section of society.
Aryapuram Co-operative Urban bank has existed for 100 years and it deserves credit for the same, sai the Minister. Aryapuram Co-operative Urban Bank has a business turnover of Rs 1,000 crore; deposits are Rs 600 crore and loans Rs 400 crore, reports The Hans India.
The bank is having 90,000 shareholders,2.50 lakh members, six ATMs and 16 branches in other parts of the state. Challa Shankar Rao is the Chairman of the UCB.
Several others present on the occasion included Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna and mayor PRS Sai, among others. Deputy mayor V Rambabu, YSRCP leader JV Lakshmi, bank directors and Manam Anjaneyulu were also present.
