Delegates of NCUI who had come from various parts of the country spoke freely in the AGM with one of them going to the extent of demanding continuation of current Chief Executive N Satyanarayan after his tenure comes to an end early next year.
Sushil Nalo from Arunachal Pradesh requested the Governing Council and the General Body to endorse the continuation of both the current CE and the President for another two more years as they have proved to be a great asset to NCUI.
“The CE is a very honest man and he has been able to partly restore the sagging image of NCUI not only in the cooperative world but also in the ministry; he must continue”, Nalo forcefully argued.
Nalo recounted a story in which CE undertook pains to reach out to several cooperatives in Arunachal Pradesh in the past. As soon as he finished his speech Chandra Pal was the first to thank him for appreciating the CE.
But since a process of appointing a new CE is underway, Satyanarayan was embarrassed that people may think that the delegate has been tutored to speak in his favour. Satyanarayan said to this correspondent “trust me I have not talked to Nalo for the last six last months”.
